Access Rugby

Access Rugby is a Youth Mentoring program designed by the Victorian Rugby Union and Melbourne Rebels to identify pathways for employment or educational training for young adults, by using sports as a vehicle to promote healthy lifestyles and habits.

Initially Access Rugby will be working with Communities in Mildura, Robinvale and in Melbourne the local Shires of the City of Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia
Our primary goals are to help youth between 15-25 set goals and identify pathways for them towards Employment or Education. Access Rugby has partnered with some Key community organisations such as Victorian Police, the Department of Business and Innovation, Westfields, Mission Australia, YSAS, Link Training and Employment and local Govt, to help mentor program participants in achieving their goals, whilst using the sport to promote healthy lifestyle and overall well being.

Our aim is to establish a number of community engagement projects with the assistance of our key partners to help spread positive messages and identify options to our participants where before they felt there were no options, and to guide them on their journey to accomplishing their goals, whether it be on the sports field or in their everyday lives.
